Mohammad Ashraf, Smaraki Mohanty, Rishabh Anand and Aditi Mohanty won the under-17 boys, under-17 girls, under-7 boys and under-7 girls titles respective in the State Under-7 and Under-17 Chess Championship, which concluded at Kalinga Bharati Residential College, Pira Bazar, Cuttack today.
Top seed Ashraf topped the table with 8.5 points from nine rounds, while Asian School champion Smaraki stood first with 5.5 points from six games. Rishabh won the crown with a round to spare, while Aditi finished at the top of the table with 5.5 points.
Top five boys and top two girls in the U-7 category became eligible to represent Odisha in the U-7 National championship to be held at Puducherry from July 15 to 24, 2012, while top two boys and girls in U-17 category qualified for the U-17 National championship to be held in Uttar Pradesh from July 16 to 25, 2012.
Around 200 players including 50 girls joined the four categories of the four-day championships, which was organised by SR Chess Centre, under the auspices of Cuttack District Chess Association and All Orissa Chess Association.

U-17 girls: 1. Smaraki Mohanty, 2. Akankhya Kabi, 3. Sradhanjali Jena, 4. Anwesha Mishra, 5. Sovna Sonali Jena.
U-7 boys: 1. Rishabh Anand, 2. Priyansu Kumar Patra, 3. Mohitosh Dey, 4. Aryan Arnab Samantaray, 5. Nikhil Mohanty.
U-7 girls: 1. Aditi Mohanty, 2. Swagatika Samal, 3. P Sairupa, 4. Miracle Panda, 5. Surabhi Sanskriti.
